Tow Truck Driver Job Duties include dealing with the dispatchers, taking the truck to the places where vehicle breakdowns or accidents have taken place, attaching the vehicles to the truck and towing them to the workshop, junkyard or the place defined by the vehicle owners. There are various other tasks that a Tow truck driver is required to handle during the course of towing the vehicles.

Tow Truck Driver Job Duties

  • Tow Truck Driver is required to coordinate with the dispatcher for carrying out the task of towing the vehicles.
  • Tow Truck Driver needs to drive the truck to the place where the vehicle breakdown or accident has taken place.
  • Tow Truck Driver is required to connect the damaged vehicle and tow it to the workshop, junkyard or to the owner’s place.
  • Tow Truck Driver may also be required to attach the cars parked in no parking zone to their trucks and tow them to the nearest police station.
  • Tow Truck Driver may be required to make use of a chain or winch for connecting the vehicle with the truck.
  • Tow Truck Driver is required to keep in mind that the other vehicles parked or running are not damaged during the course of towing the vehicle.
  • Tow Truck Driver may also be required to drive to the place where a vehicle has encountered some small roadside mechanical problem. They may assist these customers in rectifying the mechanical issue or tow their car to the workshop for repairing it.
  • Tow Truck Driver may perform certain duties of an auto mechanic when he is not on call for towing a vehicle.
