Pediatric Nurse Job Duties include taking care of the children suffering from different ailments. Pediatric Nurses work under the supervision of the pediatricians and help them with various tasks including conducting medical treatments, routine check up, etc. It is essential to attend a relevant degree course from an accredited nursing school in order to get into this position. Though acquiring this position does not required any prior work experience however having some relevant work experience certainly enhances the chances of getting a good job in this field.

Pediatric Nurse Job Duties

  • Pediatric Nurse is required to work in the children’s ward at the hospital or nursing home she is employed at.
  • Pediatric Nurse needs to assist the doctors in conducting medical treatments for children suffering from various diseases.
  • Pediatric Nurse is required to assist the doctors during the surgeries.
  • Pediatric Nurse is required to take care of the children suffering from various diseases.
  • Pediatric Nurse needs to prepare the patients for undergoing treatments.
  • Pediatric Nurse needs to monitor the patient’s blood pressure, weight, body temperature constantly and share the same with the doctor.
  • Pediatric Nurse is required to give appropriate dosage of medicines to these patients at the right time.
  • Pediatric Nurse needs to make these patients eat their meals on time. She needs to ensure that these patients get the required nutrition.
  • Pediatric Nurse is required to help these patients in brushing their teeth and taking bath.
