Inpatient Pharmacist is required to work under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist. He is employed at hospitals/ nursing home/ clinics. Inpatient Pharmacist job duties include filling and processing the medical prescriptions of the patients and attend to the patients admitted to the hospital/ nursing home. The certification requirement of an Inpatient pharmacist may vary from state to state.

However, most of the states need the candidate to possess a license to practice this profession. The pay scale of an Inpatient Pharmacist may vary between $19,000 and $28,000 depending upon the candidate’s work experience, qualification, organization as well as the city in which he is employed in.

Inpatient Pharmacist Job Duties

  • Inpatient Pharmacist is required to fill the prescriptions and label them appropriately.

  • Inpatient Pharmacist is required to prepackage the bulk medicines.
  • Inpatient Pharmacist needs to observe the patients suffering from acute health problems.
  • Inpatient Pharmacist is required to dispense the drugs and other medicines.
  • Inpatient Pharmacist is required to maintain the drugs, medicines and other pharmaceutical products.
  • Inpatient Pharmacist needs to coordinate with the dieticians and help them in preparing appropriate diet plans for the patients.
