A daycare teacher is an individual who is responsible for taking care of students which include children up to the age of five years. They help these children to prepare for preschool by playing educational games and other interesting activities. The main objective of a daycare teacher is to stimulate the intellect of these children and help in emotional and social growth.

They have to maintain records of attendance and developmental growth of the children. It is necessary for a daycare teacher to be motivating and attentive. They should also be caring in nature and possess the ability to gel with children.

Daycare Teacher Job Duties

  • A daycare teacher has to prepare long term as well as short term lesson plan for the infants in accordance with the curriculum of the daycare center.
  • A daycare teacher has to assess the developmental growth of the children admitted in the daycare center.
  • A daycare teacher has to maintain records of the growth of the children.
  • A daycare teacher has to communicate with the parents and keep them updated about the development of the children.
  • A daycare teacher has to set up the classroom before taking a class.
  • A daycare teacher has to create bulletin board and label them with colors.
  • A daycare teacher has to maintain records on a routine basis in order to mark the attendance of the children.
  • A daycare teacher has to keep a strict vigil about the health and safety of the children in the daycare center.
  • A daycare teacher has to sometimes to order the classroom supplies required.
  • A daycare teacher has to maintain record of any reported abuse and report any suspected case of child abuse. They also have to maintain record of the response of the investigator in regards to the child abuse.
