CNC Machinist Job Duties

CNC Machinist is required to plan and design the machine parts with the help of a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. It is his duty to ensure safety measures while operating this machine. A CNC Machinist is required to take proper training for working on this machine so as to perform all the given tasks efficiently.

CNC Machinist Job Duties

  • CNC Machinist is required to plan the machining work after studying and understanding the work orders given to them by their supervisors or clients.
  • CNC Machinist needs to read the blueprints and other specifications provided to them before planning the work.
  • CNC Machinist is also required to understand the engineering plans, reference plans and the orthographic designs given to them before starting with the machining work.
  • CNC Machinist is required to operate the CNC Machine in order to produce the required work.
  • CNC Machinist needs to stay updated with the latest techniques and processes of using the CNC Machines.
  • CNC Machinist is required to plan the stock inventory after looking at the available stock to understand the current stock requirement.
  • CNC Machinist is required to place order for the required stock.
  • CNC Machinist needs to coordinate with the suppliers and receive the stock. He is expected to check all the stock at the time of receiving it.
  • CNC Machinist is required to program the mills by keying in instructions in the machine.
  • CNC Machinist needs to work with various machine tools in order to set it appropriately.
  • CNC Machinist is required to verify the machine settings before running it.
  • CNC Machinist needs to ensure that proper safety measures are taken at the time of operating the machine.
  • CNC Machinist is required to carry out the maintenance work of the CNC machine.
  • CNC Machinist is required to ensure that machine remains in proper working condition.
