Airway Transportation Systems Specialist Duties

Being an Airway Transportation Systems Specialist, your job function will be to act as the primary interface between Technical Operations Service and the Air Traffic Safety Oversight Service (AOV). You will have to determine need for, then develop, provide directions as well as evaluate work programs and activities continuously to reach AOV goals.

Job Duties of Airway Transportation Systems Specialist

  • Apply your experiences and technical expertise of the National Airspace Systems (NAS) regarding gears, maintenance, certifications, alterations and administrative procedures.
  • Take suitable measures under approved guidelines to recognize local and system trends relating to possible risk hazards.
  • Apply your skills of FAA programs, Flight Plan goals, and policies.
  • Evaluate data and collaborate with corresponding person in AOV, Aviation Safety organizations, Air Traffic Organization (ATO), along with external entities.
  • You will have to work independently and implement broad discretion to make sure that the work is integrated with organizational goals and policies.
  • You must maintain a high level of understanding of current AOV/ATO functional tasks, as well as regulatory and technical programs and activities regarding ATO requirements.
  • You will have to organize or take part in operational programs to establish the compliance with policies and requirements.
  • Supervise all segments of assigned areas and recommend suitable changes to improve system safety.
